Owner William Carey has over 38 years of investigative experience involving narcotics, casino gaming, white-collar crime, organized crime, electronic surveillance, money laundering, internal and external theft.
Carey is a 26-year veteran of the New Jersey State Police, retiring as the Captain of the Casino Gaming Bureau, overseeing all criminal investigations impacting New Jersey’s casino gaming industry. During his career he was recognized for his work on narcotic, gaming, public corruption, organized crime, and money laundering investigations.
After retiring from the New Jersey State Police, Carey held various positions within the highly regulated New Jersey casino gaming industry;
Executive Director of Surveillance (Tropicana Casino & Resort) - directly supervised all surveillance employees and responsible for all CCTV coverage throughout the property as well as the casino floor. During his tenure he was responsible for supervising the transition of the CCTV system from analog to digital. Required to maintain regulatory compliance with all facets of the surveillance operation on property.
Director of Security (Tropicana Casino & Resort) - directly supervised the activities of all Security Employees, Locksmiths and Fire Command personnel. Responsible for the maintenance and operation of all access control and life safety devices. Responsible for documentation and investigation of all incidents occurring on the property as well as the Quarter entertainment complex. Required to maintain regulatory compliance with all facets of security and fire command operation on property.
Vice President of Security (Caesars Entertainment/Harrah’s Casino & Resort) - directly supervised the activities of all Security Employees, Locksmiths and Fire Command personnel. Responsible for the maintenance and operation of all access control and life safety devices. Responsible for documentation and investigation of all incidents occurring on the property as well as the Waterfront Conference Center and the Pool After Dark nightclub. Required to maintain regulatory compliance with all facets of security and fire command operations on property.
Carey received a BA in Criminal Justice from Richard Stockton College and is a Certified Public Manager (Fairleigh Dickinson University). He is a member of the Former Troopers Association of New Jersey as well as the New Jersey Licensed Private Investigators Association.
